EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The LuminoCity Festival opened its annual holiday light exhibition at Eisenhower Park on November 7, transforming 14 acres of public parkland into an immersive display titled “Fantasy Winter Fairyland.” The event, which runs through January 1, 2026, features large-scale LED sculptures, including a 50-foot castle, and new interactive attractions.

More than 5,000 visitors attended the festival’s opening weekend in Nassau County, according to organizers. The 2025 edition marks the fourth year of the event, which has drawn approximately 160,000 guests since its debut at this location in 2022. Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, who officiated the opening ceremony, highlighted the festival’s role as a regional attraction that supports the local economy.

The exhibition utilizes millions of LED lights to create various nightscapes. Central to this year’s layout is the “Castle in the Sky,” a 50-foot light sculpture cited by organizers as one of the tallest of its kind in North America. New additions for the 2025 season include the “Lumi Express,” a holiday train ride, and the “Snow Dream Slide,” which allows attendees to glide through illuminated snow clouds.

LuminoCity has renewed its partnership with the Long Island Children’s Museum for the “Lumi’s Utopia” initiative. This program selects artwork submitted by young artists and fabricates them into three-dimensional light displays featured within the park. Erika Floreska, president of the museum, stated that the collaboration brings children’s imaginative renderings to life as bespoke exhibits.

Xiaoyi Chen, founder and CEO of LuminoCity, noted that the event aims to foster community ties through its continued cooperation with local government. Chinese Consulate General Deputy Director De Li, who attended the opening, described the festival as a celebration of art, culture, and creativity. The festival operates on select dates through the holiday season, with tiered pricing for peak and non-peak hours.
