EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — The LuminoCity Festival commenced its 2025 holiday season at Eisenhower Park on November 7, transforming 14 acres of the Nassau County grounds into an immersive light exhibition. The “Fantasy Winter Fairyland” event, which runs through January 1, 2026, features large-scale LED sculptures and collaborations with local cultural institutions.
Organizers reported that more than 5,000 visitors attended the opening weekend of the festival, which is now in its fourth year at this location. Since its debut in 2022, the event has drawn over 160,000 guests. The 2025 installation includes the “Castle in the Sky,” a 50-foot structure described as one of the tallest light sculptures in North America, alongside a four-story Christmas tree and the “Snow Dream Slide.”
New to the festival this season is the “Lumi Express,” a holiday train ride operating within the park. The event also continues its “Lumi’s Utopia” partnership with the Long Island Children’s Museum. This initiative selects drawings from young artists and fabricates them into three-dimensional illuminated displays featured throughout the grounds.
Xiaoyi Chen, founder and CEO of LuminoCity, and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman presided over the opening ceremony. De Li, Deputy Director of the Chinese Consulate General, also attended, characterizing the event as a celebration of art and culture. The festival operates primarily Wednesday through Sunday, with closures scheduled for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
