Introducing GloWild: Time Traveler

The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium has launched the 2025 edition of its renowned lantern festival, GloWild: Time Traveler. This immersive nighttime event, returning for its fourth year, transports visitors through various historical and futuristic themes, including 19th-century Paris and a sci-fi trip to the future.

Artistic Displays and Collaborations

The festival features handcrafted lighted sculptures, painstakingly created by over 150 artisans. Utilizing 34 tons of steel and 89,000 feet of fabric, these displays offer visitors a visual feast as they traverse a mile-long, one-way path through the zoo.

Activities and Special Features

Visitors can enjoy various activities such as the Endangered Species Carousel, tractor-drawn hayrides, and access to the Sobela Ocean Aquarium on Wednesdays. With a festive holiday touch, guests can enjoy themed lanterns and activities such as meeting Santa and seasonal light displays from November 1 to December 28.

Event Operations and Visitor Information

GloWild operates Wednesdays through Sundays until December 28, with varying operational hours. The event is cashless; therefore, visitors are encouraged to bring debit or credit cards. Discounted tickets are available for Friends of the Zoo members.
